Andros Gherig, born in Cheliax, remembers little of it. It was well before his fourth nameday that he and his family had emigrated to Mendev. His father, killed in a conflict on the borders of Cheliax, left little for the family to live on, save his armor which was ceremoniously returned to his wife.
So, with Andros and Aveline in tow, Cleta moved to Mendev, the land that accepts all. Andros grew up strong and charismatic, despite his torn background, and sought to be a knight charging into the Worldwound. His plans changed when, on her deathbed, his mother’s dying wish was for him to not run headlong into death, but to find a way to better the world. He turned to the faith of his sister, a priestess of Iomedae for guidance.
He took up the mantle of the battle hardened goddess and took oaths to become a paladin. He donned his father’s armor, the only thing left from their life in Cheliax, and sought his calling. It was not long after that word came from the river kingdoms that brave warriors were needed to explore and clear land for new kingdoms.
Having spent much of his time homeless, he felt this was his calling. He wished his sister farewell, mounted his noble steed Reinheit, and headed into the unknown east with purpose in his heart.
